Sûreté du Québec officers from the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent Station arrested four individuals in Ormstown on Wednesday during a drug trafficking operation.
A tip from the public led to the arrest of a 61-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.
Officers then conducted a search at a single-family home located on Route 201, which resulted in the seizure of more than $6,000 in Canadian currency, more than 38 grams of cocaine, around 15 grams of crack cocaine, more than 90 grams of cannabis, as well as a prohibited weapon and drug trafficking equipment.
Investigators questioned the individuals before releasing them. The pair may be charged with drug trafficking at a later date.
Officers also arrested two men, aged 56 and 62, who were found inside the home. Both could face charges of drug possession.
The Sûreté du Québec would like to remind the public that any suspicious event or criminal act can be communicated, in confidence, to the Criminal Information Centre at 1 800 659-4264. (SR)
