On Sunday, October 29, 2023 James Atkinson of Hinchinbrooke, Quebec passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. James was born on July 28, 1945 in Ormstown, Quebec to William Atkinson and Stella Brogan. He was raised on a farm in Aubrey, Quebec (St-Chrysostome) with his brothers the late John and Hubert. He ultimately settled in the Huntingdon area. He married Gail MacDonald in 1977 and together they welcomed son, Stephen, in 1984.

James was a beloved husband and a dedicated father with a lifelong interest in farming, community service and politics. Through his work in real estate he enjoyed meeting and welcoming newcomers from near and far into the community.

James leaves to mourn his wife Gail, son Stephen, daughter-in-law Alice Monet, and grandchildren Auguste, Madeleine and Diana. He will be remembered by his brother Hubert (Loraine), nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 10th, 2023 at Salon Funéraire Rodrigue Montpetit et Fils Inc., 170 Châteauguay Street, Huntingdon, Qc.

The funeral mass was held at Huntingdon’s St-Joseph Parish, 16 York Street, Huntingdon, Qc. on November 11th.
