A new grant has become available in the MRC of Beauharnois-Salaberry, where businesses can apply for up to $20,000 in financial assistance. The money must be used towards a project that boosts productivity, and falls under the umbrella of growth, process optimization, or adaptation to the digital marketplace.
This grant, called the Fonds Propulsion, can reimburse up to 75 per cent of project expenses. These expenses could include things like new equipment and software, adaptation to a circular economy, or the creation of studies surrounding process improvement and feasibility. Yves Daoust, president of the MRC’s economic advisory council, says, “Our collective wealth depends on our ability to innovate. Fonds Propulsion thus encourages companies that dare to invest in research and continuous improvement of their operations.”
Audray Lemieux, director of territorial development, comments that the current economic state we’re in is a difficult one, which can cause challenges for small businesses. She says that “The current economic context is complex, and we want this fund to act as a lever to boost the productivity of our businesses. With this initiative, the MRC is reaffirming its commitment to the business community and its support for the growth of organizations on our territory.”
