Huntingdon MNA Carole Mallette and her team have moved their Haut-Saint-Laurent satellite office from Saint-Anicet to Franklin for 2025.
During a brief inauguration ceremony at the town hall in Franklin on January 23, Mallette said it was very important that her team be present and accessible in the Haut-Saint-Laurent. “It is in the field that we find the real issues, and above all, where we find solutions,” she explained, noting it was for this reason that she has kept the tradition started by her predecessor, Claire IsaBelle, of relocating her satellite offices each year.
Franklin’s mayor, Yves Métras, welcomed Mallette and announced the rental fee paid by the MNA will be donated to the non-profit organization Les Aidants du Haut-Saint-Laurent, as well as to the Breakfast Club of Canada which benefits both Franklin Elementary School and the École Centrale Saint-Antoine-Abbé.
Citizens can drop in to meet with a member of Mallette’s team in Franklin on Thursday mornings, while the afternoons will be reserved for booked appointments. The main office will remain in Saint-Martine, while a second satellite office is now open in Saint-Valentin.
