This report is short and sweet for a short week at the beginning of the new year. The average temperature for the first five days of 2025 was -4.1 degrees Celsius, a full four and a half degrees above the normal for January of -8.6 C. No doubt the relatively balmy weather won’t last, but nice while we have it.
Precipitation was light with 1 millimetre of rain and 6 centimetres of snow, which melted down to 5.8 mm of water for a total of 6.8 mm of precipitation – about 50 per cent less than normal.
