Chateauguay Valley weather report November 6-14, 2021

Peter Finlayson, Ormstown weatherman
November continued along its warm and rainy route with the average temperature increasing to 5.4 degrees C, up from 4.3 C in the first week and significantly up from the normal of 2.9 C.

For the second month this year, the nighttime lows (on November 8 and 9) were about the same temperature as that of the normal daytime highs for this time of year. This is a trend that is forecast to continue, on and off, for the rest of the month.

Total precipitation for the last week was 12 mm, bringing the mid-month total to 18 mm. Even though this is half of what we would normally expect halfway through November, it has been more than enough, given the large amount of precipitation that fell in the last week of October.

A good deal of progress was made in harvesting the corn crop in the last week but it’s likely to be slowed down by the rain forecast for the coming week, before a stretch of drier weather arrives to end the month.
