The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-Ouest has confirmed the first baby born in 2024 in the region arrived at 2:45 a.m. on January 1, at the birth pavilion of the Anna Laberge Hospital in Chateauguay. The healthy baby girl, named Kelly-Ann, weighed 3.15 kilograms (6 pounds 9 ounces) when she entered the world on New Year’s Day. The happy parents are Alexandra Melo and Patrick Laforest-Ardel, who would like to acknowledge the work of Dr. Bélanger and Dr. Clermont, as well as the entire team behind the birthing unit at the Anna Laberge Hospital.
