The Société de Conservation et d’Aménagement des Bassins Versants de la Zone Chateauguay (OBV SCABRIC), Ambioterra, and the Comité ZIP du Haut-Saint-Laurent received an ESTEN Foundation Grant for $1,500 for their collaborative project analyzing on-site sanitation systems on the south shore of Lake Saint-François. The organizations announced the news on social media on May 14, noting representatives from the three organizations received the award along with representatives from the municipalities of Saint-Anicet and Sainte-Barbe.
According to the ESTEN Foundation, which encourages “research, development, and innovation in connection with the onsite wastewater industry and water protection,” the award applications were analyzed by a jury of five independent professionals selected from different provinces. The initiative by the area organizations was selected in second place in the Innovative Water Protection/Awareness Projects category. (SR)
