It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Peter Derry on Friday, September 15th (1945-2023). He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered. He had a passion for both food and travel with family and friends. Peter also had a long career in education as a teacher, both at the elementary and secondary levels. He strove to engage and inspire youth for generations, to be creative and interested in learning about the world around them. Even in the afterlife he continues this journey, and is “going to medical school” at McGill, by donating his body. ALS was the culprit which caused a difficult, paralyzing struggle. He is survived by his daughters Fahima, Rebecca, sons Gabriel and Victor. ALS is a very unpleasant disease with little research. Please feel free to donate to the ALS Society of Canada, in memory. A commemorative service will be held at McGill within a year.
