New Year’s Eve was especially exciting for two families in the Montérégie-Ouest region.
The first baby of 2025 to be born at the Hôpital Anna-Laberge in Chateauguay arrived on January 1 at 7:18 a.m. Weighing just over eight pounds, the healthy wee girl named Eugénie was welcomed by proud parents Jade Godard and Jasmyn Pulfer. Dr. Caroline Lavoie had the pleasure of assisting the new parents during the birth.

Less than two hours later, the first baby at the Hôpital du Suroît in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield arrived. Parents Véronique Filion and Jean-François Sauvé met their daughter, Lilikim, at 9:04 a.m. The healthy baby girl weighed just over 6.3 pounds. Dr. Laurie Lubin assisted with her birth. (SR)
