The Centre Intégré de Santé et de Services Sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest (CISSSMO) announced that the region’s first baby of 2026 was born at 12:00 a.m. on the dot at the Centre Mêre-Enfant at the Hôpital du Suroît in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The baby is a girl and is named Anaïah. Her mother, Michèle, acknowledged her nurse, Audrey Buclon, for her care during the birth.
The first baby born at the Anna-Laberge Hospital in Chateauguay is another girl, named Adaline, who was born at 2:53 a.m. Her mother, Arianne, was extremely grateful to those working in the maternity ward for the care she received.
The CISSSMO welcomes Adaline and Anaïah and wishes their families a Happy New Year. (CF)
