SAINTE MARTINE: We have daily a large concourse of people in the village and storekeepers are busy. They are paying 12c a dozen for eggs to-day. … We have had three weddings and three auction sales since Monday.
CHATEAUGUAY: Plowing commenced on the 17th inst. The Gray Nuns are putting up a fine large stable, of modern plan, to house their large herd of cows on the Island. Mr. S.J. Bolter is preparing to put in a silo and remodel his buildings. The habitants are making hay while the sun shines, by bringing in large strings of fish, of which there seems to be plenty this spring.
DUNDEE: The Grenada started on her regular trips on Monday, but only got to the mouth of the Salmon, as the fog was so dense she had to return. This morning (24) Cornwall was reached.
VALLEYFIELD: The first annual hop of the Valleyfield dancing club was held in the Gault Institute Wednesday evening. It was preceded by an entertaining concert and fancy dancing competition.

Besides the usual attractions of Huntingdon as a pleasant place to spend a holiday and being home to so many distant friends, there will be the Centenary Celebration of Huntingdon.

Poor Long Distance Phone Service: Voice Fading Causes Difficulty in Calls – Nobody likes to provoke a quarrel, and when disagreements arise the best way to settle them is to take the complaint to the officials of the corporation in question. For quite some time Bell Telephone subscribers in Huntingdon have been annoyed when long distance calls are made. It often happens that the voice fades away and continuity of the conversation is such that it not only causes embarrassment but perturbs the feelings of those using the telephone. It naturally also lengthens the telephone call which means an increased toll charge to be made by the Bell Telephone Company.

On Municipal Day: Governor-General likely here – There is every indication that Governor-General Jules Léger will be in Huntingdon on Sunday, June 29, during the town’s 150th Anniversary celebrations. That date has been set aside as Municipal Day in the week of observances and festivities for the Town of Huntingdon, as such, to put its best foot forward.
