Bookmobile Library Comes to Huntingdon – The mountain came to Mohammet on June 13 – The McLennan Travelling Library of McGill University, that for many years has been sending boxes of books to eager readers by express, now has its own bookmobile. Parked at the High School in the forenoon, streams of interested students were allowed to enter and see the shelves of books lining each side of the van.
First Sod Turned For Coteau Bridge – Will Take 2 Years to Build, Cost $4,000,000 – VALLEYFIELD – The first sod was turned on Monday for the condtruction of a bridge which will link Valleyfield and Coteau Landing and which when completed will be the longest in the province.

DAIRY FARMERS – are thoroughly disgusted. The recent move to abolish the government milk subsidy simply means they cannot afford to stay in business. More than one area farmer ended up his last month owing money for transportation. It’s cheaper for them to pour their milk into the gutters than to ship it.
