Looking from the window to-day it takes all one’s faith to believe that the world we live on is anything but an immense snowball whirled hither and thither at the mercy of the wind. And yet a fortnight ago we saw a robin, and another fortnight will I hope see us preparing for garden work. I wonder where the brave little robin has gone. He was standing on the west corner of the barn one morning before breakfast, and all the children greeted him with a chorus of welcome.

HOWICK: Heavy rain fell on Tuesday, making the roads almost impassable, and causing the river to rise 8 feet in 8 hours.
Maple trees were tapped in some bushes the beginning of this week, but the weather has not been favorable for an abundant flow of sap.

Will Crack Down on Violators Of Margarine Ban … Reports of margarine sales in Quebec Province have drawn sharp comment from Premier Duplessis who warned authorities will crack down on violators of the government’s margarine ban. At his regular press conference last week, the first since the 1951 session prorogued, the Premier said newspapers recently reported margarine was being sold openly in some parts of the province and that “there was tolerance on the part of the government.” … “There is no tolerance and there will never be any tolerance,” he said.
