For the entirety of 2025, the municipality of Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka is offering gift baskets to new parents who live in the town. “As part of our commitment to the importance of family in our community, we are delighted to announce a new initiative for the year 2025,” said Daniel Dicaire, the town’s community services director.
The gift initiative has two goals: to support the new parents, while also sharing the work of local artisans. “This special gift consists of baby items made in our region, showcasing local know-how and supporting our artisans,” says Dicaire.
The reason the town decided to offer this service this year is to “celebrate the arrival of new members to our community and to strengthen the ties between families, local artisans/businesses, and the municipal administration,” he adds.
New parents hoping to benefit from this service can fill out a form that is available at the municipal offices or online. The baby must be born between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and parents must have proof of residence in the town in order to qualify.
Dicaire also mentions that there are other services available to residents including a subsidy program for cloth diapers, a summer day camp service, an elementary school, a dek hockey rink, a skateboard park, a tennis and pickleball court, soccer fields, and a public library.
Young families often need extra support. “We hope this gesture will help celebrate the arrival of new members to our community and strengthen family ties,” Dicaire says. For more information or to sign up, visit the municipality’s website.
