It is with profound sadness that the family of Phyllis Joan (Judson) Gosnell, wife of the late Donald Ian Gosnell, announces her passing which occurred on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown following a brief illness. Born in Charlottetown, PE on August 18, 1932, she later moved with her husband Donald Gosnell to Ormstown, Quebec where they raised their 6 children. Joan was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She attended Mount Allison University and worked as secretary to the Hon. Chester McLure, M.P., in Ottawa. Later in life, she played the organ in Franklin Centre and was a secretary at the United Church in Ormstown. She was a member of the Red Hatters, the Women’s Institute and volunteered in many activities, including teaching adults to read.
Joan found joy in her art, in watching the gardens grow and in the company of her feline companion, Queenie. She was happiest when with family and friends though, and greatly enjoyed her Ormstown and Prince Edward Island homes.
