MNA Claire IsaBelle, on behalf of Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Families, has announced $20,000 in funding for the Centre de Ressources Familiales du Haut-Saint-Laurent.
This funding is being provided through the Community Drop-in Childcare Program to enhance the availability of drop-in childcare activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. 150 projects will be supported in the various regions of Quebec, thanks to financial assistance totalling nearly $2.7 million.
“The Centre de Ressources Familiales du Haut St-Laurent does a remarkable job with families in our region. This financial assistance will allow this organization to continue its mission and to be a valuable ally for parents who are facing challenges because of the extraordinary situation we are in,” says IsaBelle. “In difficult situations, it is a great asset for our community to feel that we are being listened to, supported, and have access to resources that meet our needs.”
The objectives of this project are to provide respite for parents, help prevent parental isolation and exhaustion, as well as enable the participation of parents in vocational training and job searches. “It is with great pleasure that the Centre de Ressources Familiales du Haut St-Laurent receives this financial support,” says Colombe Monière, who is the chair of the centre’s board of directors. “With this funding, the centre will be able to enhance its mission to support the various family members in the community, especially during these difficult times. We have had to adapt to this exceptional situation, but we are always there and ready to help the families in our region.” (RP)
