FIRST PUBLIC CLINIC FOR EYE EXAMINATION: The first public clinic for the examination of eyes was held in the Court House, Huntingdon, on Tuesday afternoon, February 26. This clinic is jointly sponsored by The Canadian Institute for The Blind and the Department of Health and Welfare, Province of Quebec.
Some forty youngsters were brought from all parts of the country for the free examination. Twenty-two youngsters had been examined that morning in Ormstown and with the group in Huntingdon, it was discovered that there are three or four youngsters who will require operations to rectify their eyesight. The clinics will be held twice a year, and the main object will be to prevent blindness.
