Satellite offices for Huntingdon MNA Carole Mallette have been opened at the town hall in both the Village of Hemmingford and in Ormstown.
Traditionally, the deputy relocates her offices to new municipalities each year to simplify access to government services and to better assist citizens with their needs. The money collected as rent by the host municipalities is then returned to residents in the form of donations to different community organizations.
A representative from her team is present in Hemmingford on Wednesdays, without an appointment from 9 a.m. to noon, and then with appointment from 1 to 4 p.m.
The office is open in Ormstown during the same hours on Thursdays.
Ormstown has announced that the $5,000 rent will be distributed equally among five community organizations including Ancre et Ailes, the Lions Club, the FADOQ (Fédération de l’Âge d’Or du Québec), Branch 196 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and Une Affaire de Famille. (SR)
