The first fundraising event organized by the Huntingdon Optimist Club since the start of the pandemic was a revved-up success. A total of 26 motorcyclists took part in a sponsored 150-kilometre motorcycle ride from Huntingdon to the St-Raphael’s Ruins national historic site in South Glengarry, Ontario on September 12. Riders left from Prince-Arthur Park in the early morning and returned to toast their adventure at the Citron and Basilic restaurant later in the afternoon. Over $900 was raised during the event, which will go towards purchasing Halloween candy for distribution to local children, as well as Christmas presents for Huntingdon youth. (SR)
