Huskies bring home a big win

The Huntingdon Huskies Midget BB hockey team earned a perfect playoffs record in bringing home the championship banner during the 37th Chateauguay National Hockey Tournament. In the final game on Sunday, Jan. 19, the team, led by coach Normand Taillefer, defeated the Sainte-Julie Grizzly Nordiques by a score of 4-1 to win with their sixth victory in as many games. It was an impressive result for the Huskies who, prior to the tournament, were ranked 7th out of 11 teams in the Lac Saint-Louis Regional League, with a record under .500 (7-8-1). The team from Huntingdon did not have an easy ride to the finals as they defeated teams ranked ahead of them in the league standings, including the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Pirates (12-4-1) and the Valleyfield Braves (10-5-1), who tied for third place.
