There was a lot to be happy about during the fifth annual Big Iron and Classic Car show at the Huntingdon fairgrounds on September 19.
The sun was shining, the music was bopping, the dancing was swinging, and there was enough polished chrome to make any gearhead smile.
The proceeds from the event will also be donated to local non-profits, in keeping with a tradition that has benefitted at least ten organizations over the past five years. To date, around $25,000 have been raised and distributed back to the community.
This year’s event took place in support of Melissa’s Sunshine Camp, the Huntingdon Meals on Wheels, and Residence Elle du Haut-Saint-Laurent. Representatives from the organizations were all on site.

The Big Iron show included a large number of semi-trucks that offered visitors an opportunity to see the imposing vehicles up close, while the collection of classic cars on display extended over much of the sprawling fairgrounds.
Visitors also enjoyed the many vendors on site, a live band, swing dance demonstrations, line dancing, and activities for children.
Organizers hailed the success of this year’s event on social media, where they thanked those who attended, their sponsors, the vendors, and the many volunteers who kept the day rolling smoothly. (SR)
