Soup connoisseurs flocked to the Huntingdon County Farmers’ Market on September 30 for the annual soup challenge. This year, eight local restaurants, producers and organizations put their finest recipes to the test as visitors sampled and voted on their favourites. A panel of judges, including Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent MP Claude DeBellefeuille, Maude Vaudrin of Citron & Basilic, and Huntingdon municipal councillor Rémi Robidoux, crowned the potage prepared by Le Mangeoir as the very best. The public’s choice for the most delish bisque prepared by a professional was presented to Semence Héritage, while the tastiest amateur offering was awarded to La Bouffe Additionnelle. The market’s summer season in Prince-Arthur Park in Huntingdon comes to an end on Wednesday, October 14. (SR)
