The Little Green Library hosted a vernissage on January 11 for artist Noëlla Quesnel, whose paintings are now on display at the library until mid-February.
Quesnel first developed her artistic sense as a seamstress and later as a sewing teacher at École secondaire Arthur-Pigeon, where she also worked as a substitute teacher for 20 years. After retiring she continued her dressmaking work while painting and dabbling in photography in her spare time. After taking several art courses, she turned to acrylic paints and mixed media as her preferred mediums.
“Painting allows me to discover a new aspect of my personality. The escape and challenge created by this discipline attracts me,” she explains as part of her biography featured in the exhibition. “Travelling inspires me, and nature always amazes me.” (SR)
