Hinchinbrooke resident Julie Elder has received a $1,000 community network bursary from Dialogue McGill and the Montérégie West Community Network (MWCN).
The bursary program supports bilingual individuals enrolled in health and social services programs across Quebec. The MWCN is one of several partner organizations associated with Dialogue McGill, which provides bursaries to students attending university, CEGEP, or vocational training programs.
Elder is currently completing her studies in the Health, Assistance and Nursing program at the Chateauguay Valley Career Education Centre in Ormstown.
Lorie Marcotte, a community development and special projects coordinator with the MWCN, said that Elder’s application highlighted her “strong community-oriented drive” and desire to pursue a career in the local healthcare system. (SR)
