A man has died following a violent altercation that broke out on Wellington Street in Huntingdon shortly after 9 p.m. on July 26.
According to Sergeant Jean-Philippe Ruel of the Sûreté du Québec, officers found a body when they arrived at the scene. The individual was unresponsive, and was transported immediately to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Ruel confirmed that a man was arrested later that evening in connection with the altercation. Officers questioned the individual overnight, and the investigation is ongoing.
The suspect is expected to appear in court at a later date.
