A bumblebee comes out of hiding from under an aster flower, following a mid-October
downpour at the Jardins Glenelm market garden in Elgin. One of the last flowers of the
season, the New England aster is essential for pollinator survival, says owner Ian Ward,
who notes the flowers play a role in biodiversity management on the farm.
