An accident involving a single vehicle and a utility pole during the evening of November 14 resulted in a power outage for parts of Franklin, Ormstown, Howick, Très-Saint-Sacrement, and Saint-Chrysostome.
According to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Valérie Beauchamp, a vehicle struck a utility pole around 5:55 p.m. after losing control of their vehicle on the Montée du Rocher between Franklin and Ormstown. The impact caused the pole to snap in two, and small sparks were observed on the scene.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Hydro-Québec workers were called to the scene to repair the utility pole. Electricity was restored to some customers after several hours; however, around 135 customers remained without power until just after noon the following day. (SR)
