Three arrests made in drug trafficking operation
Officers from the Sûreté du Québec’s Beauharnois-Salaberry detachment carried out a drug trafficking operation in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on November 22 in connection with the ACCES-Cannabis program.
The investigation, which started earlier in the month, led to the arrest of three men who are now facing charges including drug trafficking and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. One individual, aged 26, is also facing charges of carrying a weapon for dangerous purpose and the unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
As part of the operation, officers searched a home on Rue du Marché. This resulted in the seizure of over 985 grams of dried cannabis, approximately 140 grams of hashish, more than 27 grams of cocaine and 44 grams of crack cocaine. Officers also removed more than 4,350 methamphetamine tablets, over 320 ecstasy (MDMA) tablets, and around 130 g of psilocybin mushrooms. Approximately $14,000 in Canadian currency was seized along with a prohibited automatic knife, a pellet handgun, and an air gun.
A dog handler assisted patrol officers in the operation.
