Public piano now available in Ormstown

Local artists added their touch to the exterior casing for Ormstown’s new public piano during a workshop led by artist Manon Béatrice Gauthier on July 3.

Ormstown is the latest municipality to join the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent’s public piano project. The instrument has been installed under the gazebo in Lindsay-Cullen Park, next to the skatepark. Pianos have also been installed for the summer at the municipal park in Sainte-Barbe, the town hall in Saint-Chrysostome, and Antoine-Labelle Park in Saint-Antoine-Abbé.

The MRC has announced a free summer series of concerts and artistic workshops in collaboration with local artists and the host municipalities.

Dancer Angela Neal will animate four traditional dance workshops on July 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Franklin, July 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Saint-Chrysostome, July 30 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Ormstown, and August 9 in Sainte-Barbe from 11 a.m. to noon.
