Runners and walkers of all ages lined up for the annual Rudolph Run in Christmas colours, on November 30 at the recreation centre in Ormstown.
This was the 15th edition of the event, which is a fundraiser for the Christmas baskets organized by the La Bouffe Additionnelle food pantry. The total raised as of December 5 is $6,235, but donations are still being collected.
The total raised over the past 15 years is $53,413.
“We want to thank our volunteers, firemen, police cadets, and our community. Without everyone’s support, we could not do this,” said event organizers Darlene Legros and Grace Brown.
The two have been organizing the event for years, but Legros and Brown have announced that this year’s run will be their last. “We are hoping someone will take it on for next year,” they said. Both would be happy to work as mentors with new organizers next year.
