Students and staff at Ormstown Elementary School gathered around chalk art that students had drawn in the schoolyard. Orange Shirt Day took place on September 30. It is also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and is a day to recognize the effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system that operated for more that 160 years and affected upwards of 150,000 children and their families.
