Country rockers the River Town Saints will be bringing their award-winning hits to the Huntingdon fairgrounds on August 10.
Known for their energetic live shows, rich vocal harmonies, and an unwavering devotion to a good time, the River Town Saints are experts at firing up a fair. “Our bread and butter is festivals and fairs,” says Chris McComb of the band, who admits they are looking forward to playing in La Belle Province.
Beyond the cultural differences, McComb says they have played enough Quebec venues to know people here still like to go out and have some fun. “Quebec looks like that is still happening and everything is still bumping, which is really cool and also why we were stoked to be asked to play this event,” he adds.
The band has been playing together for ten years and have accumulated an impressive number of Canadian Country Music Award nominations, as well as Country Music Association of Ontario and Canadian Radio Music awards, along with millions of streams for several top 40 hits.
Originally from Arnprior, Ontario, the four members are now scattered across that province but get together to record and tour over the summer. They are just back from playing a series of fairs in Alberta and Saskatchewan and are riding high with the success of their latest single Lying in Bed, which they recorded with Australian country star Kaylee Bell.
Huntingdon Fair secretary Tammy Arthur says they are excited to have the River Town Saints headlining the fair on Saturday night. Live music has long been an important feature of the fair, with some big names gracing the stage over the years, including most recently The Damn Truth. This year’s fair will also feature music by popular country rock band Ambush, who will take the stage on Friday, August 9.
