Riverfield hosts the Sounds of the Valley Festival

Ottawa-Gatineau based singer-songwriter Mia Kelly blew audiences away with her powerful voice during an afternoon set at the Sounds of the Valley festival in Riverfield on August 20. The music festival brought together local acts Jamospheric, Fieldstone Reverie, the Georgetown Racers, The Co-Conspirators, and the Nancy Lee Trio, with Kelly and Canadian folk music legend Valdy, for a full day of excellent music and inspiring workshops. Shows took place on outdoor stages located throughout Jim Priemel’s extensive property before audiences converged indoors to escape the heat in Priemel’s machine shop, which he converted into an intimate music venue and recording studio. The Sounds of the Valley music series continues with performances by Hemmingford singer-songwriter Emily Triggs and the Co-Conspirators on August 27, at the Chateauguay Valley Antique Association’s annual antique show and tractor pull.
