The municipality of Saint-Anicet highlighted the volunteer commitments of around 50 municipal volunteers during a special event at the community centre on April 23.
Agathe Caza-Brisebois was named Volunteer of the Year within the municipality in recognition of her exceptional dedication, passion, and involvement with the Société Historique de Saint-Anicet (SHSA).
A founding member of the SHSA, Caza-Brisebois served on the board of directors for more than 40 years from 1983 to 2025, including 25 years as president and an additional 16 as vice-president. During this time, she spearheaded several major projects including the creation of the Jules Léger memorial park and played a major role in the acquisition and development of the Masson-Léger general store, which now houses the SHSA.
Caza-Brisebois was involved in writing the history of the two churches in Saint-Anicet, as well as the historical reference book Saint-Anicet, d’hier à aujourd’hui. She has also served on the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent’s cultural committee and the committee overseeing the Drouler’s Tsiionhiakwatha archeological site and interpretation centre. (SR)
