The members of the Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Service de Securité Incendie proudly opened their new fire station to the public on November 23, just one day after the new structure was officially inaugurated.
Families flocked to the new facility. There were balloons, hot chocolate, fire hats for all, and a special visit by Marshall, the fire pup, from Paw Patrol.
The building is unique in that the structure consists mainly of wooden trusses and beams supported by load-bearing timber-framed walls.
The station cost $5,085,000 to build, with at least $3,712,050 having come from the provincial government through the Programme d’Amélioration et de Construction d’Infrastructures Municipals, which is managed by the Ministère des Affaires Municipals et de l’Habitation. (SR)
