It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Stanley Sherry in his 84th year on July 12, 2024. Dear son to the late Leslie and Elsie (McLean) Sherry. Older brother of the late Dorothy Sherry and brothers Jack (late Marilyn) Reg and Gord (Judy). Fun-loving uncle to many nephews and nieces.
Robert was born on March 29, 1941 in the Valleyfield area of Quebec on the family dairy farm. He was married to the late (Thelma) Anne Brown for 48 years. They started their life together in Stoney Creek where Bob was an Electrician and an IBEW 105 member for 58 years. When they retired to their home on Dickie Lake, Bob’s garage became the gathering place for the daily ritual 4:00 pm Happy Hour for all to join. Even in retirement, Bob continued a very busy life ATVing, snowmobiling and traveling in their 5th wheel all over North America.
Cremation has taken place and Inurnment services are planned to be held at Baysville Cemetery on Saturday, October 19th at noon followed by a Celebration of Life at The Lake of Bays Community Centre Arena. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Society or The Cancer Society.
