Spirit of giving abounds at CVR

Just have 1 image of one girl. Can you send image from print version. Will grab text from pdf.
One girl, one idea, one class, one school … 1,000 pairs of socks. When Grade 10 student Shayne Meadows approached her English teacher at Chateauguay Valley Regional High School about collecting socks to help the Société de Développement Social, an organization in Montreal that her sister works for, she never imagined her fellow students would answer with so many socks. Shayne, with the help of the her fellow students in Ms. Filiatrault’s English class, came up with an advertising plan that made sure anybody attached to CVR in any way knew about the “Share- A-Pair” sock drive to benefit people in need this winter, in particular the homeless. Through the use of social media, flyers and posters scattered throughout the school, as well as daily announcements and visits to all CVR students in their classrooms, this amazing group of kids was able to inspire the student body. The result was something they never imagined — an astounding 1,000 pairs of socks were donated during the two-week sock drive. Shayne is pictured here delivering the socks to her sister Kelsey Kazulak at the Société de Développement Social in Montreal. (Submitted by Roberta Filiatrault)
