Brian Patenaude wanted to do something for dogs. He has been busy transforming donated T-shirts into chew toys for pups, as part of a project with the social integration services (SIS) program at the Huntingdon Adult Education and Community Centre.
For the past few weeks, he has been bringing his creations to the Huntingdon County Farmers’ Market to sell as a fundraiser for local shelters. Other members of the SIS program, like Suzie Carpentier and Jean Beaulieu, have been showcasing their work in the Boutique TO.US kiosk, including several items made from recycled denim donated to the program.
Patenaude has sold around 20 of his braided chew toys and has raised $95. (SR)
