The Vintage Snowmobile Club of the Adirondacks will be holding its annual show and swap meet at the Ormstown fairgrounds on August 26. Admission is $10; kids under 12 free. Scrub that auto
There will be a car wash in Ormstown on August 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ormstown fire station. A sparkling car will cost you $10; $15 for SUVs and pickups. This is a fundraiser to help send some of our local Girl Guides to the Maritimes for an event next year.

Mmm chicken…
Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 26 as the Hemmingford Legion will be serving another delicious chicken dinner. To reserve yours, call Lise Brown at (514-705-2192) by Friday, August 25. Enjoy a large half-chicken, baked potato, gravy, coleslaw, dinner roll, dessert – all for a $20 donation. Pickup is between 5 and 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall (486 Champlain).
Corn roast with your MP
MP Claude DeBellefeuille and the Valleyfield Optimists invite all to the second annual corn roast taking place on August 27 at Parc Salaberry in Valleyfield. Shingles vaccination clinics
The shingles vaccine will be offered to those aged 80 and more, or immunocompromised individuals aged 18 to 79, at the Huntingdon CLSC (room 233) on the following dates: September 7 (1 to 7 p.m.); and October 12 (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). You must book on Clic-Santé or call 877-644-4545.

Woolgathering
Hemmingford’s Pinehill Woolgathering is on the weekend of September 9-10. it offers crafts and art on the grounds of a century-old farm (324 Route 202, Hemmingford). Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days; admission is free.
Call to artists, writers, and arts organizations in Montérégie-Ouest
Professional artists, writers, and organizations in the territory have until November 2 to submit their projects to the Council for the Arts and Letters of Quebec (CALQ). Culture Montérégie will offer information sessions online: one for artists on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m., and one for organizations on Thursday, September 14 at 1 p.m. Details and registration information can be found on the Culture Montérégie website (https://culturemonteregie.qc.ca).
New park opening
The Fondation du centre hospitalier du comte de Huntingdon invites all to the official opening of its new park on Thursday, September 14, at 4:30 p.m. The park is adjacent to the CHSLD (198 Chateauguay Street).

HHW collection
A collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) for MRC residents will take place on Saturday, September 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ormstown ecocentre (9 St. Paul Street). Only household products will be accepted. Further info can be found on the MRC website.
The best way to recycle
The Genie in a Bottle Project will be collecting on Saturday September 16 in Ormstown at the same time as the HHW collection. Please bring alcohol/wine bottles, soft drink/beer bottles or cans, plastic bread tags, plastic pill bottles, metal lids from alcohol bottles and beer caps, aluminum and tin cans such as for soup, tuna, cat food etc., and soft drink tabs.
Town-wide treasure hunt!
The community of Hemmingford will be hosting town-wide garage sales over two days: September 16 and 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There’s bound to be something for everyone.
Call to capture
The MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent photography exhibition and competition is back this year, this time with the theme “Enchantment.” Amateur and professional photographers are invited to send their best shots to the MRC by September 18. Work will be shown from September 29 to October 29 at the Alfred-Langevin cultural hall in Huntingdon. For more info, visit mrchsl.com.
Another call to local artists
The MRC also invites regional artists to submit work to the Salle Culterelle Alfred-Langevin on September 19 and 20 (9 a.m. to noon, 1 to and 4 p.m.) for a group show that will run from September 29 to October 29. The theme, as above, is “Enchantment.” More info on the MRC`s website.
