Hemmingford Legion chicken BBQ dinner

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 24, as the Hemmingford Legion will be serving another delicious chicken dinner. To reserve yours (reservations only) call Sheila Moore at 514-347-1177 by Friday, February 23. The meal consists of a large half chicken, baked potato, gravy, coleslaw, dinner roll and a delicious dessert. All this for only a $20.00 donation! Pickup will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall (486 Champlain Street). All are welcome and the bar is open. The Legion thanks you for your support.

Little Green Library AGM

The Little Green Library will hold its annual general meeting at the library (4 Lorne Street, Huntingdon) on Sunday, February 25, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A review of the year’s activities will take place, and any suggestions to improve services are welcome.

Third edition of the Deputy’s Café

Claude DeBellefeuille, the Bloc Québécois MP for Salaberry-Suroît, will meet citizens of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and surrounding areas on Sunday, February 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the La Factrie cultural cafe (17 Rue du Marché, Valleyfield). Have coffee with the MP and discuss issues that concern you. Coffee and pastries will be offered on site. Saint-Stanislas skates 80s disco!

Let your backbone slide on the Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka village rink on February 26, starting at 5 p.m. You can bring skates, or just dance “en famille” at this big fluorescent party, with music/bar/animation/grillade and a spaghetti supper to benefit the school. Ormstown byelection

There is a byelection coming up for Ormstown’s councillor seat #5. Voting day is Sunday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advanced voting is on February 25 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Ormstown rec centre (87 Roy Street).

Coffee, muffins, games, and JOY

Join the friendly bunch at Ormstown’s Village Church for coffee, muffins, conversation, and intergenerational fun on Wednesday, February 28 at 10 a.m. See Yvonne’s article in this edition!

First aid in the workplace

Are you in need of a CNESST workplace first aid certificate? The Monteregie UPA is organizing two training sessions in English, on Monday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 12, from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Ormstown rec centre (87 Roy Street). Participants must be present for both days of training. Cost is $128 plus tax. Register at 1-888-843-5055, ext. 311; please register before Friday, March 1.

Percy Junction at the Huntingdon Legion

Percy Junction will be playing at the Huntingdon Legion (8 chemin Fairview, (450) 264-4711) on March 2 at 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door for this event, which will feature a variety of music.
