Dundee Zion United Church will host a bluegrass gospel service with the Mud Flat Ramblers Bluegrass Band on Sunday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m. Everyone welcome!
Brysonville Schoolhouse Revisited
Another evening of great music is coming up on October 7 at the Village Church (52 Lambton Street) in Ormstown. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. The elevator and entrance to the hall are on the east side of the building; donations are received but not required.
Autoharp and 12-string guitar
Libby Hortop and Cal Tranner (Libby & Cal) will be playing songs from their upcoming album at Gigzz Musique-Resto in Ormstown on October 15. The show begins with an open stage starting at noon. Come enjoy a sandwich and the sweet harmonies of this intriguing duo. Free admission, donations accepted.
Encouraging the pollinators
There will be a presentation by Kathryn McCully and Lesle-Ann Hines on Native Plants, Pollinators, and Your Garden, on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 19 Church Street, Ormstown. Free, but donations welcome.

Fire prevention week is October 9 to 15
… And firemen visited the kindergarten classes at Hemmingford Elementary on September 22, where the kids learned about fire drills and firemen’s gear, visited a fire truck, and even tried using a firehose.
The mysterious Sarah Booth
This versatile and very busy actress from Ormstown recently appeared on an episode of CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries. She says she had auditioned 14 times for the long-running TV show, and advises, “Don’t give up, friends!”

Halloween Dance
Dress up, get your spook on, and do the Monster Mash and at the Halloween Dance, happening at the Ormstown Rec Centre (87 Roy Street) on Saturday, October 29 from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be music by DJ Fritz, prizes for costumes, a cantine, and tons of fun!
