Trick-or-treaters by the hundreds flocked to this gleefully gothic ‘creepy circus’ on Hunter Street in Huntingdon, which was created by Halloween ringmaster Debbie Galipeau.
Several families and organizations including the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent came together for a trunk-or-treat style event at École Arthur-Pigeon high school in Huntingdon. Local goblins and ghouls, as well as wolves and butterflies, enjoyed the one-stop trick-or-treating. Families were invited to do the same in Saint-Antoine-Abbé with members of the fire department who handed out candy to visitors.
The front lawn outside the municipality of Ormstown was graced by a gigantic pumpkin and squash provided by local growers Jim and Kelsey Bryson and Harley Sproule. Artist Laura Bryson carved the giant gourds for the display, which was lit up for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. The champion pumpkin (917.39 kg /2,022.5 lbs) and squash (449.28 kg/990.5 lbs) brought home first place at the Prince Edward Pumpkin Grower’s Association annual Pumpkinfest competition on October 19.
Members of the Club Optimiste Saint-Anicet transformed the Société Historique de Saint-Anicet into a haunted corridor that was visited by at least 150 brave trick-or-treaters on October 31.
Many of the homes in the village of Saint-Anicet were decorated in Halloween fashion. Along with the houses, an animated pathway – lit up by jack-o-lanterns and organized by the municipality of Saint-Anicet – stretched through the intergenerational park.
