150 years for HFD
The Huntingdon Fire Department will celebrate 150 years on Saturday, August 29, in Russell Island Park (95 Fairview) with all kinds of family activities and food. Bring your lawn chairs.
Fundraising for fire hall
There will be a smoked brisket dinner fundraiser at the Riverfield Curling Club (2036 Route 203) on Saturday, August 29, for the new Howick-Très-Saint-Sacrement fire hall. Doors open at 5 p.m., food is served at 6:30 p.m. and an auction starts at 8 p.m. Tickets available at Restaurant Gary’s, or online at riverfield.curling.io/en/products.
Hemmingford Legion steak(!) dinner
Hemmingford Legion will serve a steak dinner on Saturday, August 29. Reservations only and limited number of plates; call Lise Brown at 514-705-2192. The dinner includes steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, a bun, and dessert, all for a $40 donation. No takeout. Starts at 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
MP’s corn roast
MP Claude DeBellefeuille invites residents to her traditional corn roast on August 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Salaberry Park in Valleyfield. The HSL Seniors’ Fair is happening on September 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at CVR in Ormstown. Free and open to all.
Multiple Myeloma March

Annual tractor parade

Quilt show
The O-Ho Quilters are holding their show on September 18-19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ormstown Curling Club. Admission is $5 with profits being donated to local charities.
Bike in the gloaming

Enjoy the Pierre-Léger Sector of the Ciel Nature Reserve on Saturday, September 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with guided tours at 10 a.m. and noon.
