Are you between the ages of six and 25? Are you a hands-on learner, and are you ready to have fun? The Chateauguay Valley 4-H Club is holding an information meeting on February 28 at 7 p.m., at the Georgetown Church in Howick. You do not have to have a farming background; all young people from the Valley are invited and the meeting will be followed by a small activity. Dinner-dance for racing fans
Hippodrome Ormstown Raceway invites horse racing enthusiasts to a benefit event: there will be a dinner-dance on Saturday, March 1, at the LBA Agri-Culture Centre, starting at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome cocktail, a spaghetti supper (including salad and dessert) and dancing with a DJ. Admission is $45; please confirm attendance ASAP with Hippodrome Ormstown Raceway on Facebook Messenger.
Benefit concert schedule change

BRASs band
For International Women’s Rights Day at the CVR auditorium on Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m., the Burning BRASs Band will perform: a brass band made up exclusively of women and non-binary individuals who play with an “energetic funk twist.” Tickets are available for $20 at www.zeffy.com/fr-CA/ticketing/journee-internationale-des-droits-des-femmes-hsl-spectacle-du-burning-brass-band. Sixth annual corned beef dinner
St. Mary’s of the Fort Parish 6th annual corned beef dinner will be held Sunday, March 16, at 11 a.m. until sold out at the Fort Covington Adult Centre, 2526 Chateaugay Street, Fort Covington, New York. The dinner includes corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and dessert. Cost per meal is $15 and they are take-out only.
New date for CVR Alumni Gala
Following consultation with the many performers involved in this event, a new date has been selected. The Alumni Gala will now take place at CVR on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. This is sure to be the “not-to-be-missed” event of the season!
CVR class of ’75
A 50-year reunion for CVR’s class of ‘75 is in the works! It will take place on Saturday, May 24, with a meet-and-greet at the school from 1 to 5 p.m. and an off-site event later that evening. Alumni are asked to confirm their interest by emailing janefhannah@gmail.com.
