Art at the LGL
The Little Green Library (4 Lorne Street, Huntingdon) will be holding an exhibition of works by Noella Quesnel during July and August, with a vernissage on Saturday, July 4, from 2 to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome.
Strawberry treats in H’ford
There will be a strawberry social to benefit the Hemmingford Archives on Sunday, July 5, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Anglican Church Hall (531 Champlain Avenue). Donation cost is $11 for adults; kids aged 6-10, $5; and little ones 5 and under can enjoy for free. All are welcome.
Droulers challenge
On July 5, take on the summer family challenge at Droulers-Tsiionhiakwatha Archaeological Site! Find eight questions hidden throughout the village site, answer them correctly, and head to the reception desk to receive a prize! As well, taste two unique Indigenous-inspired foods: smoked sturgeon and blueberry bannock. Find more details at www.sitedroulers.ca.
Music Maddness
It’s not a typo! It’s time for the third Annual Music Maddness Festival, coming July 11 to the Havelock Fairgrounds (455 Route 202). Gates open at noon; there will be seven musical acts including Sylvain Leduc’s Tribute to Elvis. Tickets are $30; for info, please call 514-217-1465. There will be a restaurant on site; BYOB.
Market music
This summer, the MRC invites all to discover local artists while attending the Farmers’ Market at Prince-Arthur Park (34 Dalhousie Street, Huntingdon) on Wednesdays from July 8 to September 2, and again on September 30, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Performers will be as follows: July 8, Stew & Alice; July 15, Klezmouche; July 22, Jess and Dan; July 29, Germain Leduc; August 5, Boheman Rose; August 12, Les Harmonieuses; August 19, Stew & Alice; August 26, Mat Ferland; September 2, Jamosphéric; September 30, Jean-Luc Poirier.
Classical piano concert
A piano concert given by Ryan Hull will take place at St. Paul’s United Church in Ormstown on Friday, August 14, at 7 p.m. This fundraising event (freewill donation) will support the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) organ and tissue donation program. Light refreshments will be offered after the concert.
