Hemmingford Legion chicken BBQ dinner
Enjoy another delicious chicken dinner at the Hemmingford Legion on Saturday, July 27. Russeltown Church Anniversary
The service will be held on Sunday, July 28, at 2:30 p.m. Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to bring picnics and enjoy this historic meeting place as it commemorates its 198th anniversary. Nashville music in Huntingdon
On Sunday, July 28, The Huntingdon Legion is hosting a fun afternoon of tunes from 2-7 p.m. with a Nashville-quality band called Pure Country. Tickets are $20 and can be bought at the Legion or call Gord at 450-264-2922. The Ladies Auxiliary will be offering a light supper which is not included in the ticket price.
BioBlitz!
The Nature Conservancy of Canada’s 4th annual Big Backyard BioBlitz begins on August 1 at midnight and ends on August 5 at 11:59:59 p.m. Join thousands of BioBlitzers across the country in documenting the nature nearby. Use a smartphone, tablet, or digital camera to capture photos of birds, insects, plants and other creatures wherever you are, then share your observations to help scientists and environmental organizations understand and protect nature. The annual gathering of Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG) riders and enthusiasts is also happening on the weekend of August 3 and 4, at the Pritchard farm, 2268 Gore Road, Hinchinbrooke.

St-Malachie Church Bazaar
On Friday August 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., find all kinds of useful treasures and yummy food at 10 Bridge Street in Ormstown, rain or shine! Friday’s menu includes grillades and hot-dogs; Saturday, have breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. and then hot dogs for lunch.
Comedy On Demand
Comedian Joey Elias will appear for one night only at the Riverfield Curling Club (2036 Route 203) on Saturday, August 10. After the show there will be live music and dancing, the bar will be open, and food will be available. Doors open at 7 p.m., show begins at 8; tickets are $30 at the door, or $25 in advance at Eventbrite.

Ice Cream Sundae Social
The Huntingdon United Church will offer cakes, ice cream, special toppings, and beverages on Thursday, August 15, from 5 until 8 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages five to 12, and the little ones eat for free. Takeout is available.
Annual Betty Riel Tractor Parade
This yearly fundraiser for the Betty Riel Foundation takes place on August 17. The parade will muster at Huntingdon fairgrounds (1565 Fairview Road) at 1:30 p.m. and depart at 2 p.m. Deadline for registration is August 12; pay in advance at Lac-Matic in Ormstown. Cost is $150 which includes two meals and four drinks of choice. No alcohol, extra riders, or double wheels; drivers must have licences.
