Hemmingford history fundraiser
Unleash your inner historian by participating in a historical walk through the Hemmingford Protestant Cemetery on Sunday, August 9. Learn how the town of Hemmingford came to be, and a little about some of the earliest settlers – such as the first man buried in the cemetery, and a young girl who went to extraordinary lengths to save her family from smallpox. Walks will be bilingual, and they start on the hour at 9, 10, and 11 a.m. and 1, 2 and 3 p.m. All proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the cemetery.
Far-reaching photos
Visit some of the world’s most remote locations and explore vanishing cultures through a photography exhibit organized to raise funds for the Hemmingford Protestant Cemetery. The exhibition will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16 at the Hemmingford Anglican Church Hall (531 Champlain Street). It will feature travel photos by world traveller Lori Seller, including images from countries such as Papua New Guinea, Bhutan, and Mongolia. Pay what you can; all donations will benefit the cemetery.
