Final service at Franklin United
On June 30 at 11 a.m., the Franklin United Church will be holding its final service. It was in this church that the Franklin Ensemble had its beginnings, and some members will be taking part in this final gathering of the congregation. All are welcome to attend. The service will be followed by a lunch.
CISSSMO holiday hours
Area hospitals will be closed on Monday, July 1, except for the emergency departments. Huntingdon CLSC reception and mobile nursing care will run from 8 a.m. until noon. Saint-Chrysostome CLSC is closed for the holiday; Chateauguay CLSC services will be available from 8 a.m. until noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. except for lab services.
The July 1st Annual Chicken BBQ is coming up!
The Barrie Memorial Women’s Auxiliary volunteers will be preparing these popular and delicious take-out meals from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ormstown Curling Club. Canada Day, July 1
Festivities in Hemmingford begin at 1 p.m., with fireworks at 10 p.m. at the Centre Récréatif, 550 Goyette Street. In Ormstown, there will be grillades from noon until 3 p.m. and a live music night from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Legion, 33 Prince Albert Street. There are also Canada Day activities in Franklin, at the traditional “Rock picnic” in Ormstown, and fireworks on June 30 in Athelstan.

Ice Cream Sundae Social
The Huntingdon United Church will offer cakes, ice cream, special toppings, and beverages on Thursday, July 4, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages five to 12, and the little ones eat for free. Takeout available.
Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague bazaar
This annual event takes place on July 6 and 7 on the church grounds.
HHW collection
A collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) for MRC residents will take place on Saturday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5001 Route 132, Saint-Anicet. Only household products will be accepted. Any agricultural, industrial, or commercial waste, tires, or medication will be refused. Further info can be found on the MRC website.
Smash ‘em up
The Saint-Chrysostome Demolition Derby is peeling in on July 19 at 6 p.m. and July 20 at 2 p.m., at 400 St-Antoine Street in that town.
A biking weekend for large and small
