Art at the library
The Little Green Library (4 Lorne Street) will be holding a vernissage for artist Céline Lemieux on Saturday, November 8, from 2 to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome. The exhibition will run from November 8 to December 13.
Remembrance Day
The Huntingdon Legion Branch #81 Remembrance Day Service will be on Sunday, November 9. The Ecumenical service will be at 11 a.m. at the Huntingdon Legion, followed by the parade at noon that heads to the cenotaph at Prince-Arthur Park at 12:15 p.m.
The Ormstown Legion Branch 196, will be holding a Remembrance Day Parade on November 9. Leaving from MacDougall Hall at 3 p.m. the parade will arrive at the cenotaph at Lindsey Cullen Park around 3:25 p.m. for the laying of the wreaths.
The annual Remembrance Day service held by the Hemmingford Legion will take place on November 9 at 11 a.m. A wreath laying ceremony will then be held at 11 a.m. on November 11 at the cenotaph.
Call for artists
The Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC invites regional artists to create works of art on wooden ornaments donated by Hinchinbrooke’s Peter Dahms. The ornaments will be displayed with the MRC Christmas tree from November 15 to December at 10 King Street in Huntingdon and will be sold by silent auction to benefit Résidence-Elle. Wine- and cider-tasting
Saveurs de Hemmingford et Environs, a fundraiser for the volunteer-run Info-Hemmingford community bulletin, is being held Sunday, November 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the recreation centre at 550 Goyette Avenue, Hemmingford. An entry fee of $25 will be charged ($35 for couples) which includes several coupons for tastings. Many local food products will be available for purchase; do some holiday shopping! Open House at the Archives
Archives Hemmingford will hold its Open House on November 15 at 1 p.m. with a quilt draw at 2 p.m. There will be live music with Funkyfreddy, Adrien Doucette, and Prestall Robertson, and there will be free snacks and beverages. Quilt tickets are on sale until the draw at $5 each at Archives Hemmingford (517 Champlain Avenue), which is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m.
Garage sale at the church
St. Andrew’s Church in Huntingdon (33 Prince Street) is having a garage sale on November 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring new and almost-new household items and small appliances, plus Christmas decorations.
